Filipa Melo Lopes - Philosophy, University of Edinburgh
I am a Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) in Social and Political Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh.
My areas of research are Social and Political Philosophy and Feminist Philosophy. I have done work on social theory and ontology, the metaphysics of gender and disability, as well as normative work in feminist politics and sexual ethics. I am currently working on a project on Simone de Beauvoir's The Second Sex.
I received my Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 2019.
I grew up in Portugal, studied in Norway, and got my B.A. at Simon Fraser University, in Canada.
